Happy New Year, Everyone! Although we Sugars are all out on our skis, boards, nordic skis and snow shoes this time of year, we couldn't help but reminisce about the 2009 season. It was a great year, starting with the vibrant colors of spring and ending with a nice long fall season. We hope Santa brought you everything you wanted to start 2010 off right. The 2009 riding season is underway and the trails are in fabulous condition! Whether it's your first time on a bike in a few years or you're a seasoned pro, come out to White Pine Touring on Tuesday nights now thru Labor Day. We have some new things brewing this year including a canned food drive at every TNR and a *possible* long Saturday ride with a shuttle later in the season. Details to come. Team Sugar is proud to support The Peace House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. This year we were able to round enough funds from our members to buy holiday gifts for four families! Team Sugar would like to thank everyone for a fabulous 2008 season! Although the season started late due to the immense amounts of snow the 2007/2008 winter brought, the season also ran late due to the delayed snow in the 2008/2009 ski season! We take it as it comes, and it has been fun. Congratulations to all the racers, the riders who improved so much this year, and to founding member Jean Carlan for her beautiful new baby Allison Pearl. For now we are focusing on skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, spin class, and whatever else we girls do to occupy ourselves until we can hit the dirt once again! We'll see you all in 2009..... can't wait! |

Not only did the classy ladies of Team Sugar dress in their finest prom attire... not only did we climb 2000 feet on gravel and single track from City Park to Guardsman Pass... not only did we rally down for burgers & beer with the other riders in costume.... we won second place in the costume contest! Nothing like sweaty girls in prom dresses. We had "Miss Hap", "Miss Behavin'", "Miss Spoke", "Miss Creant" the favorite "Miss Ter" & more! Tour Des Suds is such a great way to end a fabulous racing season. More importantly, however, TDS is also the day of Team Sugar's annual bake sale fundraiser. This year we were able to give all our bake sale earnings (and costume contest winnings) back to Mountain Trails Foundation. It's the least we can do for all this organization does for our trail systems and more. Thank you MTF! |
